History of Black Blockchain Summit
Our History
Rooted in the rich legacy of Black excellence and innovation, the BlackBlockchain Summit was founded to harness the power of blockchain technology for the global advancement of Black communities. Since our inception, we have grown into a landmark event at the historic Howard University in Washington,DC.
Our journey began with the vision of co-founders John Wainaina Karanja and Sinclair Skinner. John, a pioneer in Bitcoin education, is the CEO of Melanin and co-founder ofBitHub Africa, a blockchain accelerator promoting digital inclusion across Africa.Skinner, a Howard graduate and leading advocate for crypto in Black communities, co-founded BitMari, which partners with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe to lower remittance costs, and launched a blockchain accelerator that supports Zimbabwean women farmers through Bitcoin and smart contracts.
