A respected Professor of Electrical Engineering at Howard University, Dr. Harris authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and was nationally recognized for his lifelong commitment to innovation and STEM advocacy. He played a leading role in launching the USA Science and Engineering Festival at the Washington Convention Center, the Nano-Express mobile nanotechnology laboratory, and the Howard University Materials Science Research Center of Excellence, which attracted outstanding African-American researchers.

Beyond academia, Dr. Harris was deeply involved in community engagement, working with the Washington DC Boy Scouts, organizing scholarship fundraisers across the DMV region, and reaching audiences nationwide through his Sirius XM radio programs “Homepage” and “Nanotalk.” His visionary support was instrumental in making the inaugural Black Blockchain Summit at Howard University a reality. Dr. Harris passed away in October 2020, leaving behind a powerful legacy of education, innovation, and empowerment.
