They discussed practical applications like training returning citizens and youth to become certified blockchain developers, thereby creating economic opportunities and alternative pathways outside traditional trades. The conversation highlighted the critical need to improve digital literacy and provide equitable access to technology and internet services to empower underserved communities. Additionally, panelists stressed that financial literacy—including foundational concepts like savings, checking accounts, and personal finance—must be integrated across all academic disciplines, not just business schools. They called for a broader educational approach starting from middle school to ensure cumulative knowledge development. The session underscored that blockchain and crypto education should be part of a holistic financial literacy framework accessible to all students, ensuring these technological advancements can contribute to peaceful solutions for violent world problems and economic empowerment within Black communities and beyond.
